ŪkisGo is a Lithuanian e-commerce platform built around a simple but powerful idea: to connect local farmers and food producers directly with customers. The platform operates on a “from farm to table” model, allowing fresh, responsibly produced food to be delivered straight to people’s homes across Lithuania.

ŪkisGo is not a traditional online shop. It is a marketplace and a growing community where every product has a clear origin and story. Farmers and producers sell without intermediaries, while customers - families, individuals, and businesses - gain access to high-quality local produce, including vegetables, fruit, dairy, meat, baked goods, and handmade food products.

A key feature of the business model is decentralised fulfilment: each farmer or producer packs and ships their own products. This required a flexible and well-structured e-commerce solution.

 


 

Challenges before the project

ŪkisGo was created to connect local farmers and food producers directly with customers, without intermediaries. However, achieving this through manual processes, social media, or fragmented tools was not sustainable. The team needed a single digital platform that could support trust, transparency, and growth while keeping the model fair for both producers and buyers.

Key challenges included:

  • Limited reach for farmers and producers
    Individual farmers had no efficient way to reach customers across Lithuania. Sales were often local, time-consuming, and dependent on personal contacts rather than visibility and discoverability.
  • No unified marketplace experience
    There was no central place where customers could browse products from multiple producers, compare options, and place orders in one flow while still respecting each producer's independence.
  • Complex delivery logic
    Each farmer or producer needed to pack and ship their own products. Without a dedicated system, it was difficult to explain, calculate, and manage separate delivery options and costs in a clear and automated way.
  • Lack of customer trust and transparency
    One of ŪkisGo's core values is knowing where food comes from. Without a structured platform, it was difficult to clearly present product origins, producer information, and ordering conditions consistently and reliably.
  • No scalable sales and payment process
    Manual coordination of orders, payments, and confirmations limited growth and increased the risk of errors. The business required automated payment flows and order management to operate efficiently.
  • No tools for promotion and long-term growth
    The absence of structured product categories, search, filtering, discounts, and SEO limited customer engagement and made it difficult to attract new buyers organically.

 

For ŪkisGo, creating a dedicated platform was essential not only to sell products online but to build a trusted, scalable ecosystem that supports local farmers, simplifies purchasing for customers, and enables sustainable growth across the entire marketplace.

 


 

Solution

Caesar7 developed an individual e-commerce project fully adapted to the client’s business needs. The project was implemented using the CZAR7® e-commerce system - a proprietary solution designed for speed, flexibility, and deep customisation.

The platform was designed to support ŪkisGo’s unique marketplace logic, while remaining easy to use for everyday customers.

 

Marketplace and account management

At the core of the platform is a fully developed multi-vendor marketplace. Each farmer and producer has an individual account and can independently manage their presence on the platform. Through these accounts, farmers and producers can:

  • Create and manage product listings
  • Define prices, availability, and detailed product information
  • Receive and process orders
  • Manage delivery options offered to customers
  • Communicate with buyers directly when required

Customers also have personal accounts, allowing them to manage orders, review purchase history, and store personal information for faster checkout.

 

E-commerce functionality

We delivered a complete and well-structured e-commerce solution designed to be easy to use while covering all essential business needs:

  • Online shop with a structured product catalogue
  • Product categories, filters, and advanced search
  • Detailed product pages with specifications and producer information
  • Discount coupons and promotional functionality
  • Integration of multiple payment methods
  • Integration of various delivery methods, including couriers, parcel lockers, and local pickup
  • Automatic calculation of delivery costs per individual producer
  • Contact forms and enquiry functionality for communication with users

To support communication and long-term growth, we also implemented a news and blog section, as well as SEO tools to improve organic visibility.

 

Design and usability

The platform was fully personalised to reflect the ŪkisGo brand identity. We focused on clarity, trust, and usability, ensuring that the marketplace logic, delivery rules, and producer responsibilities are clearly communicated to customers.

The design supports the idea that every product has a clear origin and that purchasing is both transparent and convenient.

 

Integrations and professional services

We implemented both standardised and non-standard integrations with external:

  • Business management systems
  • Courier and logistics services
  • Accounting systems

These integrations ensure efficient order processing, accurate delivery handling, and reliable financial operations.

Throughout the project, we provided programming and consulting services, actively advising the client on technical and structural decisions. Our goal was to deliver not just a working platform, but a stable foundation that allows ŪkisGo to grow, scale, and strengthen its community over time.

 


 

Results

As a result of this project, ŪkisGo now operates as a fully functional, scalable marketplace that supports its unique “from farm to table” model across all of Lithuania. The platform provides a stable technical foundation that allows the business to grow while remaining true to its core values of freshness, transparency, and sustainability.

Farmers and producers gained a single, reliable environment where they can independently manage products, orders, and deliveries, while reaching a much wider audience without intermediaries. At the same time, customers benefit from a clear and convenient shopping experience that explains how products are sourced, delivered, and priced.

The implemented delivery logic successfully supports multiple sellers within one order, with delivery costs calculated separately per producer. This removed a major operational barrier and made a complex process easy to understand for everyday users.

From a business perspective, the platform enables:

  • Centralised management of a growing marketplace
  • Automated ordering, payment, and delivery processes
  • Improved visibility for local farmers and producers
  • Clear communication and trust between buyers and sellers
  • A solid base for marketing, SEO, and content-driven growth

The CZAR7® e-commerce system proved to be a strong fit for a non-standard marketplace project, allowing deep customisation without sacrificing performance or usability.

Overall, the project delivered more than an online shop. It provided ŪkisGo with a long-term digital infrastructure that supports community building, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth, allowing the platform to scale while keeping the human connection between farmers and customers at its core.
